Synopsis:
He
told me to say when, but I can’t. Not with Andrés. It’s so hard to say
anything when he’s trailing feather soft kisses down my neck, or when
his touch sends hot currents of lust rippling across my skin.
Then there’s the way he smiles and offers soft words of encouragement when I’m creating art, almost like he believes I have talent.
He’s not like any guy I’ve ever met. Not like my ex-fiancée. Not like my father. He’s got me thinking that maybe we can have something more. More than just lust, degradation, and abuse.
And now I’m scared, because that means I’ll have to trust him with more than just my body, but with my heart, too.

My Thoughts
Say When was a very quick read. It follows Christina who is struggling with
her own personal demons as she tries to go through some changes. She’s trying to become a stronger person, a
person who does not take orders from other people and is trying to take charge
of her own life.
Christina was a character that I wanted to sympathize with
and someone that I wanted to like and I did at some points but most of the time
she came across as very whiny and childish.
I mean at one point she was throwing food at her at fiancé in a
restaurant. You just don’t do that no
matter how much of a douche he is.
She flops back and forth between the girl she used to be and
the girl she wants to be and I understand how hard that must be but sometimes I
just wanted to grab her and smack some sense into her.
I really wish we could have gotten to know more of
Andres. It seems like he could be a very
complex character with a lot of layers but just once we were starting to get to
the good stuff, the story ended. I know
that there is a sequel and that we will see more of these characters but I just
feel like their story cut off at a strange point for this book.
As for the concept, it was a predictable contemporary NA
romance. I felt like I knew what was going
to happen before it happened with a few exceptions towards the end. Even though it was still predictable, I did
enjoy it. I just love fluffy romances
and always get caught up in it. Say When did not disappoint.

This book is a must read. The story of two broken hearts coming together is captivating. I found it very difficult to put this book down when I was needed elsewhere. I ended up staying up half the night to finish it with no regrets of having an early morning with little sleep.
